The Ultimate French Toast

Ingredients:
1 jar Nutella
4 thick slices of bread
4 eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of nutmeg
pinch of cinnamon
1 tbsp butter
3/4 cup strawberries (or other assorted berries)
powdered sugar
maple syrup

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325F. Spread nutella generously on 2 slices of bread. Close like a sandwich. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Soak bread in egg mixture, liberally on both sides.

Melt butter in a medium skillet then add bread and reduce heat to medium low. Once the side is golden brown, flip and cook until golden (2-3 minutes) on the other side. Place on a rimmed baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 5 minutes.

Slice bread on a diagonal. Stack one piece on top of the other at an angle and spoon fruit over the top. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. If desired, pour a little maple syrup around the border! ENJOY!

Strawberry Crepes from Taste of Home Magazine

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups milk
3 eggs
2 tbsp butter (melted)
1/2 tsp lemon extract
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
dash of salt

Filling:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 package of cream cheese (softened, 8oz.)
2 cups confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Topping:
4 cups Fresh cut up strawberries
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp sugar

DIRECTIONS:

In a large mixing bowl combine milk, eggs, butter, and extract. Combine flour, sugar, salt; add to milk mixture and beat until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for one hour.

Meanwhile, chop strawberries and place in a medium mixing bowl. Sprinkle lemon juice on top. Sprinkle sugar on top. Refrigerate. Stir before serving.

Heat a lightly greased skillet (8 inch, non stick). Stir batter, pour two tbsp into center of skillet. Lift and tilt pan to evenly coat bottom. Cook until top appears dry; flip and cook 15-20 seconds longer. Remove to a wire rack. Repeat with remaining batter, greasing skillet as needed.

In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream until still peaks form. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, confectioners sugar, and vanilla until smooth; fold in the whipped cream. Spoon two rounded tbsp of filling down the center of each crepe. Roll up. Top with strawberry topping. ENJOY!
